Helen received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of California, Los Angeles. She then completed her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology at the University of Southern California. She is broadly interested in the cognitive mechanisms associated with language learning. Her current work at UBC examines how bilingual and monolingual infants segment words in continuous speech.
