Brooke Aikins

B.A. in Psychology, 4th year, UBC | Research Assistant

Brooke is a 4th year B.A. student at UBC majoring in Psychology. She is very honoured to be involved with the work being done at the Infant Studies Lab. Through volunteering with Big Brother Big Sister Vancouver, coursework at UBC, and spending time with her nieces and nephews, developmental psychology has become her greatest interest. More specifically Brooke is interested in early cognitive developmental processes such as language acquisition, perception, and learning. She will be working on the Hands project, which investigates monolingual and bilingual infants’ acquisition of category-scope and individual-scope words. She hopes to gain a greater understanding of the research process and prepare for graduate school during her time with the Infant Studies Lab. In her spare time, Brooke loves to ski, hike, and spend time with friends and family.
