Dr. Helen Shiyang Lu Joins Our Centre as Postdoctoral Fellow!

We are so excited to have Dr. Helen Shiyang Lu join our team here at the Infant Studies Centre!

Helen received her PhD at the University of Southern California. Her research focused on the cues that facilitate learning statistical patterns, both in infants and adults, and how language experience influences this learning.

Now at the UBC Infant Studies Centre, Helen holds a highly competitive Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (Congratulations Helen!). In this new position, Helen is conducting research investigating how bilingual and monolingual infants segment words in continuous speech.

Outside of the lab, Helen is excited to explore Vancouver and visit the city’s many cat cafés.
